Ambient Clinical Analytics, a U.S. medical analytics company founded in 2013, just inked a cooperation agreement with Meehealth, a leading Chinese Health IT company that supports hospitals across China. In the agreement, Meehealth will market Ambient Clinical’s products in China. The two companies will work together to create new products for China and other world markets.
Ambient develops analytical software that helps physicians make decisions about patient treatment in emergency room and intensive care situations. It licenses the core of the AWARE software, described as “a clinical decision support tool,” from Mayo Clinic.
This China deal is the latest sign that Ambient is picking up momentum. In April 2017, Ambient completed a $5.4 million round of funding to expand its sales and product development. The U.S. FDA had cleared Ambient’s AWARE software platform as a Class 2 device in April 2015. Recently, Ambient worked out a deal to collaborate on AWARE with medical giant Phillips Healthcare’s IntelliSpace Console Critical Care product.
