A US-based medical artificial intelligence startup VoxelCloud
has just a closed US$15 million in Series A round, led by Chinese Internet giant Tencent Holdings Ltd together with named US investors including Sequoia Capital and NewMargin Ventures.
This round of funding came in time when VoxelCloud is expanding its AI medical technology solutions beyond hospitals, as well as to push innovations in medical AI technology.VoxelCloud uses artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud-computing technologies to provide automated medical image analysis and clinical decision support for medical practitioners.
VoxelCloud’s goal is to use AI in healthcare to improve the current clinical workflow – to save time and improve the diagnostic accuracy. Its AI technology and solutions currently already covers coronary heart disease, lung cancer screening and retinal diseases. VoxelCloud’s CT Image Analysis technology has obtained FDA and CE. VoxelCloud also submitted for CFDA approval.
In addition to its Los Angels US headquarters, VoxelCloud has established locations in Shanghai and Suzhou, China.
VoxelCloud believes that AI in health should aloso go for “accessible diagnosis” outside hospitals and be applied in various medical scenarios. VoxcelCloud is currently also developing products that can benefit patients directly.
